Pretendo Network (formerly, RiiU) is an alternate online service to Nintendo Network on Wii U and 3DS. Pretendo works through the Inkay plugin on Aroma. Pretendo was supported on Tiramisu as Martini, but has since been discontinued.

As of now, (April 2025) Pretendo Network supports 21 games/services publicly with 11 more in paid beta.

Accounts

Pretendo Network accounts are created, linked, signed into, etc. the same as a Nintendo Network account. Due to technical issues, you can't have a Pretendo account and a Nintendo account with the same ID on the same console.

The Wii U/3DS will still refer to your account as a Nintendo Network account unless custom language patches/themes are applied.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is Pretendo's replacement for Miiverse. It works the same minus a couple unfinished features (e.g. sharing images on 3DS). Juxtaposition also effects the WaraWara Plaza, identical to how Miiverse did.

Installation

Aroma

Inkay can be installed from the Aroma Updater or Homebrew Browser. If you see a "Using Pretendo Network" message on boot, Inkay is installed correctly.

Cemu

Pretendo can be used on Cemu versions 2.0 and above. To do this, you must already have Pretendo installed on your Wii U. Following Cemu's guide to setup online play, dumping your PNID instead of your NNID. Once set up, simply select "Pretendo" under the network service option.
